Job Description

Join the University of New Mexico Hospital as a PACU Registered Nurse, where you'll provide exceptional care to patients before and after surgery. In this dynamic role, you will perform critical assessments, manage pain, and support patients through recovery while collaborating with a top-tier medical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans
  • Assist with special tests and procedures and ensure proper consent
  • Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel
  • Institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients
  • Administer medication and document clinical findings
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients

Required Qualifications

  • Program Graduate
  • 1 year directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • Registered Nurse in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • 3 years directly related experience
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty
  • PALS
  • TNCC and/or ENPC
