Job Description

Join the University of New Mexico Hospitals as a Nursing Faculty member, where you'll play a crucial role in educating nursing students and enhancing patient care. You will lead educational initiatives, develop patient care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care
  • Initiate unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills
  • Perform as a unit educator and clinical instructor
  • Develop patient plans of care incorporating evidence-based research
  • Consult with multidisciplinary team for quality patient care
  • Educate staff on new equipment and conduct training
  • Assist patients and caregivers with educational needs
  • Monitor trends and implement educational strategies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
  • 18 months directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications within 90 Days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • 3 years directly related experience
  • Current Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP or other instruct certification
