Job Description
Join the University of New Mexico Hospitals as a Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Psychiatric department. You will provide essential nursing care to patients with mental health needs, develop care plans, and ensure adherence to hospital policies while fostering recovery in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care for psychiatric patients
Design nursing care plans and assist in overall care plan development
Conduct patient interviews, examinations, and assessments
Administer medication and coordinate nursing care
Facilitate group therapy and education sessions
Educate patients and families on treatment regimens
Enhance professional growth through educational programs
Participate in various administrative functions
Assist with emergency measures for adverse patient developments
Required Qualifications
Program Graduate
Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
IV Certification within 6 months of date of position may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
1 year directly related experience
