As a Unit Based Educator at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, you will lead educational initiatives to enhance patient care, develop nursing skills, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols. This full-time role allows you to maintain clinical skills while educating staff and students in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care
Initiate unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills
Develop patient plans of care incorporating evidenced-based research
Educate staff on new equipment and coordinate in-service training
Monitor trends and implement educational strategies for quality standards
Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
BSN or MSN
18 months directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications within 90 Days
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
3 years directly related experience
Current Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP or other instruct cert
