Job Description

Join the University of New Mexico - Hospitals as a CPR Registered Nurse, where you'll provide critical nursing care in a psychiatric environment. You'll have the opportunity to impact patient recovery through personalized care plans, medication administration, and active involvement in patient education and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for psychiatric patients
  • Design nursing care plans and assist in overall care plan development
  • Observe patient behavior and perform triage and crisis intervention
  • Write treatment plans and administer medication
  • Educate patients and families on treatment regimens
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Participate in orientation and preceptor responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Program Graduate
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • Obtain and maintain Aggressive Behavior Certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • 1 year directly related experience
