Job Description
Join the University of New Mexico Hospitals as a Unit-Based Educator to enhance specialized patient care through education and collaboration. This full-time role allows you to leverage your clinical expertise while guiding nursing students and staff in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care
Initiate unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills
Act as a unit educator while maintaining clinical skills
Develop patient care plans incorporating evidence-based research
Consult with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
Educate staff on new equipment and supplies
Assist patients and caregivers with educational needs and problem solving
Collaborate with Clinical Educators and other nursing staff
Monitor trends and implement educational strategies for quality standards
Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
Administer medications and document clinical findings
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
18 months of directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification within 30 days
Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Nursing
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Indigenous languages
3 years of directly related experience
Current Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP or other instruct certifications
