Job Description

Join the University of New Mexico - Hospitals as a Bilingual RN, where you'll provide compassionate nursing care in a psychiatric setting. With a focus on patient-centered care, you'll assist in the development of treatment plans and support patients' recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in a mental health/psychiatric environment.
  • Design nursing care plans and assist in the development of overall care plans for psychiatric patients.
  • Interview, examine, and assess the health status of psychiatric patients.
  • Write treatment plans, coordinate patient drug and procedure activities, and administer medication.
  • Chart and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patients' conditions.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and management of side effects.
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting responsibilities of new personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Program Graduate
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • 1 year directly related experience
