Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and make a meaningful impact in healthcare. You'll provide essential support to patients and the care team, ensuring excellent service and operational excellence in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greets patients and visitors in a courteous manner
Verifies insurance information and registers new patients
Schedules patients for future appointments
Collects co-pays and any payment at the time of service
Assists therapists with paperwork for therapy visits
Answers telephone and confirms new patient appointments
Performs clerical duties such as copying and filing
Maintains confidentiality of patient information
Executes time management by notifying the provider team of patient arrivals
Completes clinic reports and administrative duties
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or higher
1+ years of customer service or office-related experience
Intermediate level of computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to travel 25% to Manhattan and Sunnyside practices if needed for coverage
Ability to attend training in Lake Success, NY
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience working in a medical front office
Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
Knowledge of medical terminology
Bilingual in Spanish and English
