Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors in a courteous manner
  • Verifies insurance information and registers new patients
  • Schedules patients for future appointments
  • Collects co-pays and any payment at the time of service
  • Assists therapists with paperwork for therapy visits
  • Answers telephone and confirms new patient appointments
  • Performs clerical duties such as copying and filing
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information
  • Executes time management by notifying the provider team of patient arrivals
  • Completes clinic reports and administrative duties

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • 1+ years of customer service or office-related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to travel 25% to Manhattan and Sunnyside practices if needed for coverage
  • Ability to attend training in Lake Success, NY

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical front office
  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
