Job Description

Join the University of New Mexico - Hospitals as a Registered Nurse in a dynamic mental health environment. You'll provide essential patient care, develop nursing care plans, and support patients and families through their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in a mental health/psychiatric environment
  • Design nursing care plans and assist in the development of overall care plans for psychiatric patients
  • Interview, examine, and assess health status of psychiatric patients
  • Observe patient behavior and perform triage and crisis intervention
  • Write treatment plans and administer medication and treatment
  • Educate patients and families on treatment regimens
  • Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel
  • Follow patient safety-related policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Program Graduate
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • IV Certification within 6 months of date of position may be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • 1 year directly related experience
