Job Description

As a CPR Registered Nurse at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, you will provide essential nursing care in a psychiatric setting, designing care plans that facilitate patient recovery and ensuring adherence to departmental policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for psychiatric patients
  • Design nursing care plans and assist in developing overall care plans
  • Observe patient behavior and perform triage and crisis intervention
  • Write treatment plans and coordinate patient drug and procedure activities
  • Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and compliance
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Participate in orientation and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel

Required Qualifications

  • Program Graduate
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
  • Obtain and maintain Aggressive Behavior Certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo)
  • 1 year directly related experience
