Job Description
Join the University of New Mexico Hospitals as a Nurse Intern, where you'll provide vital patient care under the guidance of experienced Registered Nurses. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance your nursing skills while working in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Implement and document individualized care plans.
Administer medications and assist with special tests and procedures.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Support patient safety by following policies and reporting concerns.
Required Qualifications
Enrolled as a Senior Level Student in Good Standing at UNM College of Nursing
Completion of Basic Nursing Skills Course
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers certification within 30 days
Temporary or permanent RN licensure within 6 weeks of program completion
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
