Job Description
Join the University of New Mexico - Hospitals as a Unit Based Educator, where you'll lead educational initiatives and enhance clinical skills in a dynamic nursing environment. This role involves both patient care and staff education, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards while fostering professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care
Initiate unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills
Perform as a unit educator while maintaining clinical skills
Develop patient plans of care incorporating evidenced-based research
Consult with and serve as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team
Educate staff on new equipment and coordinate in-service training
Assist patients and caregivers with educational needs
Collaborate with Clinical Educator and other nursing staff
Monitor trends and implement educational strategies
Deliver safe direct care to patients
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
BSN or MSN
18 months directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
3 years directly related experience
Current Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP or other instruct cert
