Job Description

Join the University of New Mexico Hospital as a PACU Registered Nurse, where your clinical expertise will be crucial in delivering exceptional care to patients before and after surgery. In this role, you'll collaborate with a skilled team, perform vital assessments, manage post-operative recovery, and advocate for patient safety and comfort in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans
  • Assist with special tests and procedures
  • Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel
  • Administer medication and document clinical findings
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Enhance professional growth through educational programs

Required Qualifications

  • Program Graduate
  • 1 year directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider within 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • 3 years directly related experience
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty
  • PALS
  • TNCC and/or ENPC
