Job Description
As a Nurse Intern at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, you will deliver direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to a positive patient care environment. This role offers hands-on experience in patient care across various age groups while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care under supervision of an RN
Collaborate with healthcare team to implement care plans
Administer medications and document clinical findings
Assist with special tests and procedures
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Participate in educational programs for professional growth
Required Qualifications
Student in good standing at UNM College of Nursing
Completion of Basic Nursing Skills Course
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification within 30 days
Temporary or permanent RN licensure within 6 weeks of program completion
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Native American languages
6 months of directly related experience
