Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors promptly and courteously
  • Verifies insurance information and registers new patients
  • Schedules future appointments and collects co-pays
  • Assists with pre-certification paperwork
  • Handles clerical duties like copying and filing
  • Notifies healthcare providers of patient arrivals
  • Ensures continuity of care and communication
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or office related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency
  • Ability to travel 25% to Manhattan and Sunnyside practices if needed
  • Ability to attend training in Lake Success, NY

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a medical front office position
  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
