Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals
Design and deliver specialized academic instruction for students with moderate to severe disabilities
Foster a structured, predictable, and supportive classroom environment
Collaborate with related service providers, behavioral teams, and families
Support students' social and emotional growth through embedded SEL strategies
Track and document academic and behavioral progress
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
Support crisis intervention and behavior management strategies as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Moderate/Severe) or eligibility to obtain
Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders and emotional/behavioral challenges
Knowledge of evidence-based practices and curriculum adaptations for students with moderate/severe needs
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
Experience in a nonpublic school or alternative education setting
