Job Description
Join the University of New Mexico Hospitals as a Clinical Counselor Social Worker, where you will lead and deliver psychosocial assessments and therapeutic services across diverse clinics. This role emphasizes independent decision-making and program administration while providing critical support to patients of all age groups.
Key Responsibilities
Provide counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families
Prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow up care programs
Consult with other therapists and related professional staff
Provide and/or arrange therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention
Refer clients to appropriate social service agencies
Document treatment effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary
Prepare documentation for civil commitment hearings or legal proceedings
Perform administrative functions and participate in research projects
Provide clinical supervision to lower level therapists and interns
Promote best practices in treatment and enhance professional development
Follow patient safety-related policies and protocols
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in a related discipline
3 years of directly related experience
LPCC/CMHC or LCSW or LMFT in New Mexico
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
