Job Description
Join the University of New Mexico Hospitals as a Unit-Based Educator, where you'll enhance patient care through education and clinical leadership. Utilize your nursing expertise to develop specialized care plans while maintaining direct patient care duties.
Key Responsibilities
Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care
Initiate unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills
Perform as a unit educator while maintaining clinical skills
Develop patient plans of care incorporating evidence-based research
Consult and serve as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team
Educate staff on new equipment and coordinate training
Assist patients and caregivers with educational needs
Monitor trends and implement educational strategies for quality standards
Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
18 months directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
3 years directly related experience
Current Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP, or other instruct certifications
