Summary:
The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring adherence to nursing care plans, and supervising LPNs, CNAs, and orientees. This role includes charge responsibilities, requiring strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. The RN upholds Select Medical’s core values with a strong emphasis on patient and employee safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide timely updates for team conferences and ensure accurate, detailed documentation.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, delivering direct care and patient/family education.
- Initiate discharge planning at admission and coordinate teaching to support safe transitions.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff, ensuring effective team performance.
- Promote a safe environment, identifying and reporting hazards, and following all safety protocols.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities, providing direction and maintaining unit efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Support professional growth and participate in ongoing education and training.
Requirements:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience
- PCU experience required
- Charge Nurse experience required
- Previous Select Medical experience preferred
Contract: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36
