Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Echo Technologist to join our Cardiology team. The Echo Tech will perform diagnostic echocardiographic procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
? Key Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic and stress echocardiograms according to physician orders and established protocols
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of the heart and vascular structures
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and deliver accurate results
- Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout procedures
- Document findings and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Participate in continuing education and departmental meetings
? Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program
- Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in echocardiography preferred
- Familiarity with GE or Philips ultrasound systems is a plus
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy
