ER RN Job Details

• Location: Martinsburg, WV 25401 (West Virginia travel nursing job)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (November 18, 2025 – February 17, 2026)
• Setting: Acute Care Emergency Department (40 beds, trauma and psych/seclusion rooms)
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (7p–7a or 3p–3a); every other weekend required
• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,860 - $2,000
• Employment Type: Travel RN, W2
• Charting System: Epic EMR

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (West Virginia or compact state)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience in a similar high-volume ER
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CEN, TCRN, or CPEN
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (per travel nurse guidelines)
• Valid, unexpired driver’s license required

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy emergency room (average 120 patients/day)
• Manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, including trauma, behavioral health, and acute medical emergencies
• Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate evidence-based interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment and technology, including ventilators, high-flow oxygen, and Epic EMR
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, documentation standards, infection control, and safety protocols
• Participate in block scheduling and work every other weekend as required
• Mentor and support ED Techs and ancillary healthcare staff
