Job Description

Join Disney Cruise Line as a Safety Operations Manager and play a vital role in ensuring safety compliance across our fleet and private islands. You'll collaborate with teams to enhance safety standards, oversee maintenance operations, and implement innovative technologies to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Safety Managers and shipboard
  • Inspects vessels & Islands periodically for compliance with safety standards
  • Review and update maintenance schedules based on Ship Survey findings
  • Define and maintain review of operational requirements for riding teams
  • Assist in organizing and scheduling repair and maintenance work for safety-related equipment
  • Responsible for planning, preparation and execution of safety-related activities
  • Identify new technology to be implemented
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to advance technical operating practices
  • Keep all technical documentation up to date
  • Assist with the creation of AMOS jobs for safety-related maintenance
  • Maintain and update the ships assembly plans and Port Manning program
  • Attend technical discussions and Yard visits as required
  • Assist the New Build Team with technical documentation review
  • Maintain safe operations with alternative fuel
  • Contribute to future LNG & Methanol Bunkering HAZIDs and Risk Analysis
  • Coordinate fleet and Island safety equipment maintenance agreements
  • Align private island safety procedures with WDW Safety and Auditing standards
  • Responsible for all safety projects related to Fire Safety of the Islands

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years shipboard experience in a Deck/Engineering or Safety Officer role
  • Leadership, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to influence leadership with a strategic and collaborative approach
  • Led safety initiatives for area
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Self-starter, recognizing when projects need to involve multiple partners
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cruise industry experience shipboard and shoreside preferred
