Join Wegmans as a Sushi Cook and bring your passion for food to life in a dynamic, high-volume kitchen. You'll create unique sushi offerings while providing exceptional service and growing your culinary skills in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure incredible service is provided by effectively handling a variety of tasks
Follow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques to provide consistent ingredients and finished products
Balance prep work while ensuring guests meals are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards
Possess an understanding of ingredients used and menu offerings, sharing knowledge with restaurant team members
Required Qualifications
2 or more years’ experience working as a sushi line cook
Experience making sushi and other types of Japanese cuisine
Knife skills
Food safety and quality assurance knowledge
Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant ingredients and cuisine
Preferred Qualifications
Highly proficient with cutting and working with whole fish
Confident working in an open kitchen
Experience preparing sushi in a high-volume environment
