Job Description
Join Uncommon Schools as a Middle School History Teacher, where you will empower students to become self-guided learners through engaging history lessons. Collaborate with a dedicated team to foster an inclusive environment and support students' social-emotional and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate student-led discourse on historical topics
Guide students in understanding authors' claims and sourcing
Teach an in-house curriculum focusing on diverse histories
Build an inclusive and safe classroom environment
Analyze student work samples and assessments with the principal
Develop positive relationships with students and families
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or the Humanities
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of teaching experience
New Jersey state certification eligibility
