Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Dickson, Tennessee (Zip: 37055) – Tennessee nursing jobs
• Facility Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit – 26 beds
• Assignment Duration: 12-week travel nurse contract (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/9/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00AM – 7:00PM), every other weekend required
• Hours per week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,440 - $1,550 per week
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing – Med/Surg RN jobs
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 or team nursing 1:9
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Royal, Galaxy, Pewter Gray, or White scrubs
• Awards: Unit of Distinction (2015-2017), Honorable Mention (2018)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Strong time management and effective communication skills
• Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with healthcare teams

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to medical-surgical patients
• Conduct hourly purposeful rounds and complete bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and patient care technicians (PCTs) for optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize Alaris IV pumps and Meditech electronic documentation system
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed within the healthcare facility
• Maintain high standards of patient experience using AIDET communication techniques
