Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team to provide high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. This role combines management and hands-on veterinary work, making a significant impact on animal welfare while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and performance evaluations
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience strongly preferred
