Salary Range: $88,598.16 - $110,747.70 May be eligible for variable incentive pay

Summary

The VP, Area Retail Leader is a leadership position responsible for the operation, sales development, and financial achievement of multiple branches within a designated Area. Through coaching and team development, this role ensures that all branches within their Area meet their financial goals, operates within all HFCU policies and procedures, and delivers exceptional member experience.

Essential Functions

  • Provide consistent leadership, coaching, and support to develop branch managers and their staff within a region.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, conduct performance reviews, and provide additional training and coaching, as necessary.
  • Develop strategic plans, monitor branch behavior and performance indicators around deposit, lending, and membership growth.
  • Manage member and community relationships within HFCU’s field of membership while working alongside the SVP, Retail on area performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, and maintain effective employee relations. Foster a member centric culture, emphasizing exceptional member service and manage escalated member issues. Maintain and project the Credit Union’s professional reputation. Maintain privacy of member account information.
  • Drive business development in branch markets and identify opportunities for growth, member acquisition, and cross selling credit union products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulatory requirements which include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). Ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures such as branch safety and security. Analyze, monitor, and provide staff education on policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining reliable and predictable attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred. A comparable combination of education, relevant certifications, and experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial services, with at least 3 years in a branch management or regional management role required.

Skills

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Ability to create and execute branch sales plans to be able to lead teams to success.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach branch staff to meet established goals.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, members, and the community.
  • Strong risk management skills.
  • Computer literate, proficient use of calculator, keyboard, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with financial institution software systems required

Physical Requirements

This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and working primarily at a workstation or desk in an open office environment. Includes extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, requiring repeated motion, as well as extensive use of the phone. Stretching breaks are recommended to avoid injury. Some lifting or moving bags of coin 50 lbs. in weight.

Must have and be able to maintain a valid US Drivers License and access to reliable transportation ability to travel within the region as required.
