Job Description
Join Kaiser as a Psychological Assistant specializing in grief therapy, where you'll provide vital mental health services under professional supervision. You'll assess, diagnose, and treat a diverse range of patients, contributing to their mental wellness through individual and group therapy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate clinical treatment programs
Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups
Conduct psychological assessments, prepare intake summaries and treatment plans
Collaborate with physicians for psychotropic medication screening and evaluation
Provide clinical supervision to psychology interns and trainees
Utilize community resources for patient needs
Participate in departmental program development and evaluation
Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies
Required Qualifications
Completion of a psychology doctoral internship - minimum of 1 year (1500 hours)
PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health or School Psychology from an accredited college or university
Psychologist License (California) within 24 months of hire
Psychological Assistant Registration (California) required at hire
Familiarity with DSM-V
Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions
Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice and psychotherapy research methods
Knowledge of bio-psycho-social functions contributing to mental health
Accuracy in diagnosing patients and developing effective treatment plans
Competence in individual, family, and group psychotherapy
Professional maturity and ethical integrity
Commitment to quality of service and teamwork
Ability to complete multiple tasks/objectives timely
Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and APA standards
Previous clinical responsibilities including psychological testing and crisis intervention
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy
Demonstrated experience in psychological evaluations of adults, children, and families
Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity
