Job Title: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) – Rotating D/E Shift 04:00 AM - 04:00 PM​

Assignment Duration: 16 – 32 weeks
Location:  Burlington, V T
Schedule: Rotating Day/Evening shifts with call and weekend rotation; Monday through Sunday
Start Time: 12H Rotating 04:00 AM - 04:00 PM
Holidays: Travelers required to work 2 out of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to join our heart team in a dynamic, high-acuity teaching hospital environment. The nurse will be responsible for circulating and occasionally scrubbing during surgical procedures, supporting a wide variety of specialties including ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro.

This role requires flexibility for rotating shifts, weekend coverage, call duties, and potential float assignments to Fanny Allen Ambulatory Campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).

  • Circulate during surgical cases; scrub experience is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.

  • Utilize Epic EMR system efficiently for documentation and communication.

  • Maintain a solid knowledge base across multiple surgical specialties.

  • Participate in call and weekend rotations as scheduled.

  • Support holiday coverage as per assignment requirements.

  • Float to Fanny Allen Ambulatory Campus as needed, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure with BLS certification required.

  • CNOR certification preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of general nursing experience; will consider candidates with slightly less experience if skills are strong and from a similar-sized teaching facility.

  • Prior travel nursing experience mandatory.

  • Experience in a large, teaching hospital setting is required.

  • Circulate experience mandatory; scrub experience preferred.

  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable.

  • Strong knowledge of ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro procedures.

  • Reliable transportation is required; public transportation is not available.

  • Personal or rental vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November–April.

Additional Information:

  • IV Solutions offered.

  • No block schedules allowed.

  • Bi-weekly orientation sessions (next available Monday).

  • Complete work history including bed count, EMR used, facility type, etc., is required for submission.

  • Any employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.

  • Vehicle must be equipped for winter conditions from November through April.
