Job Description
Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Patient Accounts Representative, where you will ensure accurate financial transactions in a healthcare setting. Your role will involve managing billing inquiries, payment postings, and account reconciliations while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processes including deductibles, out-of-pockets, and copays
Accurately record payments from patients and insurance companies
Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies
Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and establish payment arrangements
Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts
Maintain detailed records of all interactions related to patient accounts
Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations including HIPAA
Generate reports on accounts receivable status and collections efforts
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
