Key Responsibilities
Interact with and encourage children in all activities during the day
Create and implement an age-appropriate curriculum using Vermont Early Childhood Learning Standards
Foster communication between parents and caregivers
Maintain portfolios for all children in the program
Perform behavioral and cognitive assessments for children at least twice a year
Organize and prepare for parent-teacher conferences
Complete 24 hours of approved professional development annually
Uphold state licensing requirements and regulations
Report any suspected abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter
Follow designated protocol for reporting unsafe conditions
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 21 college credits in Early Education or a qualifying Associate's Degree
At least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center or as an Early Elementary Educator
Must be at least 20 years of age
First Aid & CPR Certified
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel
Detail oriented
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
