• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac Focus
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
• Start Dates: 11/24/2025, 12/8/2025, 12/22/2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (weekly guarantee)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Size: 22 beds
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,720 - $1,840 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent step-down, PCU, or ICU nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
• Professional appearance (navy scrubs; no offensive tattoos or non-facility tops)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a progressive care (step-down) cardiac unit
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including post-cardiac cath lab and cardioversion cases
• Utilize telemetry equipment and respond promptly to patient needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Paragon EHR
• Float to other nursing units as required for clinical support
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development
