Founder & CEO of TOBE Energy | Leading the Market with Unmatched Hydrogen Production Efficiency Objective To build the real-time software infrastructure behind a novel hydrogen production system—helping reinvent how the world creates zero-emission fuel.

About Us Tobe Energy is redefining how green hydrogen is made. We’ve developed a low-cost, high-efficiency electrolysis system that’s transforming renewable hydrogen from a niche solution into a scalable alternative to fossil fuels. Backed by major accelerators like Techstars, venture capital, and operating from our new facility in Oklahoma City, we’re combining physics, hardware, and code to solve one of the planet’s most urgent energy challenges.

About You As a Software Developer at Tobe, you’ll be at the intersection of software, hardware, and clean energy. You’ll work directly with our co-founders—Colby and Caleb—to help us go from prototype to product. This role is perfect for a versatile engineer excited by fast-paced, high-impact work and eager to build everything from web dashboards to real-time hardware control systems. You’ll help design systems that support lab operations, automate field testing, and power the next generation of hydrogen infrastructure.

What Your Code Will Help Us Achieve Continuous 24/7 hydrogen production in a real-world system

Seamless remote monitoring and automated fault detection

Rapid iteration on experimental hardware and control loops

Actionable insights from production and diagnostic data

A clean energy future that actually scales

Responsibilities Build internal web dashboards and UIs for hardware control and process monitoring

Write robust backend code for logging, analytics, and control workflows

Create scripts and utilities that automate experimental and field operations

Work with the founding team to design, build, and deploy production-ready tools

Interface with physical hardware through sensors, serial protocols, or microcontrollers

Integrate our system with third-party analytics, cloud infrastructure, and internal APIs

Collaborate across product, engineering, and hardware teams to deliver end-to-end features

Contribute to software architecture as we scale from R&D Pilots to full-scale deployment

Qualifications Experience with full-stack development or scripting-heavy environments

Proficiency in at least one modern dev environment: Cursor, Replit, VS Code, etc.

Experience interfacing with hardware, sensors, or data acquisition tools a plus

Familiarity with modern backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Node.js)

Strong version control habits (Git, GitHub) and collaborative workflows

Comfort navigating ambiguous, fast-changing startup environments

Excited to build climate tech that actually gets deployed

Bonus Points For:

Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or hardware-adjacent coding

Familiarity with real-time control systems, serial/UART/I2C comms

Experience deploying on local servers or cloud platforms like Digital Ocean

Knowledge of basic electrical engineering or signal processing

What We Offer Direct mentorship and collaboration with the Founder/CEO

Competitive salary + generous equity for an early-stage role

Leadership opportunities as we grow the software/hardware team

Hybrid flexibility and a supportive, fast-moving work culture

Work that bridges physical systems, code, and real-world climate impact

Health and wellness benefits, with flexibility based on your needs

The chance to be part of something big—early

Compensation $95,000 – $135,000 base + equity

The final offer will be based on experience, skills, and alignment with our mission. Candidates who meet most but not all of the listed qualifications are encouraged to apply.
