Key Responsibilities
Facilitate student-led discourse on historical topics
Guide students in understanding authors' claims and sourcing
Teach an in-house curriculum emphasizing diverse histories
Build an inclusive and safe classroom environment
Analyze student work samples and assessments with principal/instructional coach
Differentiate instruction for all learners
Build positive relationships with students and families
Engage in professional development and mentorship
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners
Self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback
1-2 years experience in K-12 urban schools
Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or Humanities
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching or working with middle school students
Familiarity with New York state certification requirements
