Join CHS Inc. as a Rail Capacity Planning Manager to lead a team of specialists in enhancing rail planning and operations. This role demands excellent communication skills and a data-driven approach to streamline processes and optimize performance in a dynamic agribusiness environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of rail experts overseeing railcar capacity and pipeline management
  • Develop department plans and resource management aligned with enterprise strategies
  • Implement cost-reduction programs for demurrage, storage, and fleet optimization
  • Support internal automation and rail technology solutions
  • Develop and improve rail performance measurements (KPI’s in PowerBi dashboards)
  • Collaborate with other functional areas on department plans and initiatives
  • Understand business data to solve problems and improve relationships
  • Identify coaching opportunities to maximize job performance
  • Maintain positive relationships with carriers, vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • Manage relationships with mid-level management of carriers, vendors, and suppliers

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics
  • Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Rail Transportation management and/or operations experience
  • Ability to build relationships across business and customers
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and time management skills
  • Good coordination and organizational abilities
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate data
  • Experience working with Microsoft Systems, including PowerBi
  • Prior rail management experience, including use of rail technology
  • Experience leading team of remote, hybrid and on-site employees
  • Ability to work in a Matrix Organization
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field
