Illinois PACU Nurse Job Details

• Location: Herrin, Illinois (zip 62948) – Southern Illinois healthcare jobs
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts (09:00–19:30 or 09:30–20:00)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2330–$2500
• On-Call: Required every 3–4 days; rotating day off for post-call rest
• Floating: May float to sister healthcare facilities as needed

PACU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience
• Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Willingness to float to sister facilities as needed

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess post-anesthesia patients for mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans with the healthcare team
• Monitor patient condition and promptly report changes
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and families
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Foster a healthy workplace environment through professional communication
• Participate in continuing education and uphold core patient care standards
