Position Overview

HumanEdge Health is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Harrisonville, Missouri. The OT will provide rehabilitation services in a skilled nursing/rehab setting, focusing on patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders. This role emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care to improve independence and functional outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans following regulatory and clinical standards

  • Provide skilled, medically necessary interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices

  • Assess patient progress and adjust treatments as needed, documenting in the electronic health record

  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services according to patient needs

  • Consult and counsel patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy plans

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress and care plans

  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate patient records

  • Accurately record treatment minutes for all provided services

  • Participate in meetings, in-services, and facility trainings

  • Obtain necessary DME or supplies as needed

  • Supervise and support OT assistants, rehab aides, or students

  • Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and state professional practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethical standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year OT experience – Required

  • New grads accepted with Level II fieldwork experience

  • LTC or Rehab experience – Required

  • Active OT license – Required
