Job Description

The University Health Critical Care Fellowship is a 12-month training program for certified acute care nurse practitioners and physician assistants. It offers comprehensive exposure to various intensive care units, enhancing critical care skills and patient management techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate through various intensive care units and sub-specialties
  • Hone assessment, diagnosis, and treatment skills for critically ill patients
  • Participate in Grand Rounds, Journal Club, high-fidelity simulation, and lectures
  • Receive performance assessments and feedback

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated or pending graduation from an accredited Adult-Geriatric or Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current board certification in area of specialty
  • Current/unencumbered Texas Nurse Practitioner or Texas Physician Assistant license
  • Active BLS/ACLS certification from an approved American Heart Association training center
