Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and leading age-appropriate activities that promote learning and play
Engage with children throughout the day, ensuring safety and wellbeing
Support classroom routines, including arrival, playtime, meals, rest, and departure
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
Follow state child care regulations and Stratton Childcare Center policies
Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse or neglect
Greet and interact with parents/guardians in a welcoming and professional manner
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and Childcare Manager to resolve issues promptly
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and complete professional development
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of at least one 3-credit college course in Psychology, Sociology, or Early Childhood Education
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a childcare setting
Must meet or exceed Vermont state standards for Teaching Assistant roles
Preferred Qualifications
First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Passion for working with children and supporting early childhood development
Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
