Cardiac Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Kansas City, MO 64132 (Missouri nursing jobs)
• Unit: 4 North Cardiac Telemetry (Main Campus)
• Assignment Length: 6-week travel nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: December 29, 2025
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (black pants permitted with navy top)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Proficient in reading and interpreting EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural care: ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op open heart, pacemaker placements
• Skilled in IV medication administration and titration (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (submit for review)
• Professional references and background check required
• Must pass TC testing within 30 days of start

Cardiac Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients in a 29-bed unit
• Perform and monitor IV insertions, NGT placement/maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and patient care technicians (PCTs) for optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize clinical equipment: Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, EKG machines
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Float to other hospital units as needed based on competency
• Provide exceptional patient experience through courtesy, respect, and responsiveness
• Participate in bedside shift reports and patient education
