Travel RN – Med/Tele (PCU Experience Required)

Unit: Med/Tele

Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Schedule: Every other weekend required, first to float

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Job Description: We're seeking an experienced Med/Tele RN with strong PCU experience for a busy 32-bed telemetry unit. Ideal candidates are comfortable reading their own cardiac strips and managing PCU-level patients. This is a fast-paced unit with occasional floating to MS, PCU, and ER boarding.

Patient Population & Procedures:

• Adults & geriatrics
• Cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers
• ETOH withdrawal, Covid (BiPAP), pneumonia, influenza, sepsis
• PCU overflow and occasional general surgical with cardiac history

Must-Have Skills:

• PCU-level care experience
• Ability to read & interpret cardiac strips
• Experience with titratable drips (Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine)
• EPIC experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted with strong background

Unit Details:

• RN:Patient Ratio: 1:4–5 (occasional 1:6 at night)
• Charge RN on all shifts (may take light assignment)
• Tech support with 1:10 ratio goal
• Portable & in-room telemetry with central monitoring tech
• Scrub Color: Any color allowed

Certifications Required:

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Additional Info:

• Floating: Required to PCU, MS, and ER holds
• Radius Rule: 50 miles
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 2 shifts (Fri & Sat), independently assigned by Sunday
• Holiday Requirement: Every other
• RTO: Max 7 days per contract; must be asked for up front
