Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll train fellow veterinarians, perform surgeries, and help ensure every pet receives compassionate care. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques
  • Support positive work culture and team development
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
  • Provide preventive and basic care to patients
  • Support internal ASPCA departments with medical consultations

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
