The position involves concurrent reviews of medical records to enhance documentation quality and educating medical professionals on documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities: * Ensuring the quality and integrity of clinical documentation. * Serving as a resource for documentation practices within the medical record system. * Performing concurrent reviews of medical records to identify areas for documentation improvement. * Educating medical professionals regarding documentation requirements as needed. * Providing training and education to physicians on clinical documentation best practices. * Providing workflow direction related to clinical documentation processes. * Managing and responding to documentation queries.
Requirements: * Minimum Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. * Required Skills: Possesses critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must be capable of working in a demanding environment and taking appropriate action. * Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of employment. * Required Licenses: Current registered nurse licensure. * Minimum Work Experience: One year of inpatient coding experience is preferred.
