Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Assistant, where you'll provide essential support to patients and healthcare providers in a collaborative environment. Your role will include patient intake, administering injections, and maintaining compliance with health standards while ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens for routing
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant program
Strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with doctors and patients
Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
Preferred Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
