Key Responsibilities
Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and implements them
Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools
Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals
Employs various teaching methods and adapts materials to meet student needs
Monitors student behavior and maintains discipline in the classroom
Evaluates student work and adjusts instruction as necessary
Attends IEP meetings and collaborates with team members
Stays updated on trends and best practices in special education
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university
Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area
Preferred Qualifications
First Aid and CPR certifications
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification
