Position Overview: Twin County Regional Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Travel RN to join our Behavioral Health team. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to delivering high-quality psychiatric care. The RN will provide direct patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patients through their mental health recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care to individuals with behavioral health conditions
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement therapeutic interventions
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and de-escalate crisis situations using approved techniques
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment
