Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in renal care
• Patient ratios of 1:5 (may occasionally flex to 1:6)
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed
• Must have 2 years of recent specialty experience with renal transplant, PD catheter, hemodialysis, drains, TPN, wound care, diabetes encephalopathy, acute renal rejection, and thymo administration
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols, PCA management, and wound care
• All transplant patients require 2:1 ratio for 48 hours
• Scrub color: Navy
• Charting system: Epic
• 12 hours of orientation required
• 10-15 hours of pre-start compliance modules required
• Free parking provided
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Must maintain both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
