Schedule: Every 3rd weekend, floating required
Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP (AWHONN Beginner, NCC/EFM preferred)
Charting: Epic Stork, PeriGen (Epic preferred)
Medication System: Pyxis
Communication: SBAR
Support Services: CRNA, Hospitalist, Midwife (24/7), Pharmacy, PT, RT, Social Services, Radiology, Phlebotomy, Rapid Response, Unit Secretary, Interpretation, Transportation

Unit & Patient Info

  • Daily Census: Antepartum 6-9 | L&D 12-16
  • Rooms: 16 LDR | 7 OBED | 12 Antepartum | 3 OR
  • Patient Ratios: Antepartum 1:1-3 | L&D 1:1-2 | OR 1:1
  • Patient Ages: Infants, Adolescents, Adults
  • Typical Diagnoses: Labor, C-section, antepartum, postpartum, nursery/newborn
  • Monthly Births: 200-300
  • High-Risk Antepartum experience required

Skills Required

Antepartum: Sterile speculum exam, NST, OCT, reflex/edema/clonus checks, sterile vaginal exams, triage, EFM use
Fetal Monitoring: External & internal monitoring, recognition/treatment of abnormal FHR
IV/Phlebotomy: Start/maintain IVs, infusion pumps, administer blood/blood products
Meds: Antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin
L&D Management: Amnioinfusion, high-risk deliveries, C-section (scrub & circulate), vacuum/forceps, hemorrhage/shock mgmt, recovery
Neonatal: APGAR, cord sample collection, ID/banding, neonatal resuscitation, thermoregulation
Postpartum: Episiotomy care, Foley insertion, fundus/lochia care, wound care, management of vaginal/cesarean deliveries, hemorrhage, PIH
Surgical: Cervical cerclage, D&C, tubal ligation

  • Parking: Free
  • COVID & Flu Vaccines: Required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • RTO: >7 days requires manager approval (holidays excluded)
  • Floating: Yes, to other units/facilities
  • Local Radius: 50 miles (locals not accepted)
  • Licensure: Active state license or pending (approved)
  • Travel Pairs: Allowed (related pairs cannot work same unit)
