Job Description
Join Optum as a Patient Access Representative where you'll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience and accurate registration. This full-time role offers a chance to impact healthcare positively while benefiting from comprehensive training and support.
Key Responsibilities
Communicates directly with patients to complete the registration process
Utilizes computer systems to enter and verify patient data
Processes referrals, pre-certifications, and pre-authorizations
Verifies insurance coverage and creates price estimates
Collects patient co-pays and discusses financial obligations
Identifies and collects outstanding balances
Confirms and creates scheduled appointments for patient services
Responds to patient inquiries with compassion
Generates and analyzes patient data reports
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED
1+ years of customer service experience
Ability to work full time 40 hours/week
Ability to work onsite at Fox Hospital facilities
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in scheduling and authorizations
Healthcare experience and clinical knowledge
Ability to work night and weekend hours
