Job Description

Join Optum as a Patient Access Representative where you'll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience and accurate registration. This full-time role offers a chance to impact healthcare positively while benefiting from comprehensive training and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates directly with patients to complete the registration process
  • Utilizes computer systems to enter and verify patient data
  • Processes referrals, pre-certifications, and pre-authorizations
  • Verifies insurance coverage and creates price estimates
  • Collects patient co-pays and discusses financial obligations
  • Identifies and collects outstanding balances
  • Confirms and creates scheduled appointments for patient services
  • Responds to patient inquiries with compassion
  • Generates and analyzes patient data reports

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Ability to work full time 40 hours/week
  • Ability to work onsite at Fox Hospital facilities
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in scheduling and authorizations
  • Healthcare experience and clinical knowledge
  • Ability to work night and weekend hours
