Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room
Location: Portage, WI
Start Date: 11/3
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Shift: 12-hour day/night variable shifts
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays
On-Call: No mandatory on-call; may have opportunities to pick up additional shifts
Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to other regional sites (e.g., Wisconsin Rapids, Plover, Stevens Point)

Join a fast-paced emergency department team in central Wisconsin. This unit sees a wide variety of patient cases and is supported by RT and radiology onsite. Travel RNs must be experienced, confident in their clinical judgment, and comfortable adapting to the variable demands of the emergency setting.

???? Responsibilities & Unit Overview

  • Deliver timely and effective emergency nursing care for a broad patient population
  • Triage and manage patient care in accordance with ED protocols and standards
  • Collaborate with providers and cross-functional teams to deliver best outcomes
  • Accurately document interventions, assessments, and progress in Epic EMR
  • Provide support across ED and float locations when needed

Unit Info:

  • 13-bed ED
  • RN-to-patient ratio: 1:1–1:4
  • Respiratory Therapy and X-ray services on-site

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Wisconsin (or compact)
  • AHA or Red Cross BLS
  • ACLS and PALS (required)
  • TNCC (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience
  • Epic experience (required)
  • Prior travel RN experience preferred

Must live 50+ miles from the facility (radius rule) Maximum of 7 days RTO will be accommodated (firm requirement) Scrub colors: Any Candidates must be assertive, confident in their skills, and a strong team player Travel RN must be adaptable and perform well under pressure Travelers may be placed on-call for low census (counts toward 36 unbillable low census hours) Callback pay applies if traveler is called in after being placed on call Orientation week GSA/per diem hours are not guaranteed Guaranteed hours apply except during facility holiday closures
